For more information about Security Command Center service tier costs, see the [Security Command Center pricing page](/security-command-center/pricing).\n| **Note:** Security Command Center customers will not see the standard \"Container Registry vulnerability scan\" line item on their bill. Security Command Center PayGo customers will see an Security Command Center Registry scan sku and Security Command Center subscription customers will not see a charge for registry scanning, as it's part of their subscription charge.\n\n1. When you enable the Container Scanning API, billing begins immediately.\n\n2. Artifact Analysis automatically scans an image the first\n time you push it to the registry and charges you for the initial scan. This\n charge applies only to the initial scan and is not affected by the number of\n layers on the base image. Once the image has been uploaded and initially\n scanned, subsequent scans of the same image are free.\n\n Each image is uniquely identified by a digest. Images with the same digest\n are considered the same image.\n3. Artifact Analysis does not automatically scan existing images\n after you enable the API. To scan an existing image, you must push it again.\n\nEach new version of an image is associated with a digest, a unique identifier\nthat is created when you push the image to Artifact Analysis. Tags that\nyou add to an image are labels and do not change the content of the image,\ntherefore you are not billed for adding or editing tags.\n\nOn-Demand Scanning\n------------------\n\nIf you choose to enable the On-Demand Scanning API in your project, the price is\n**$0.26** per scanned container image.\n\nAdvanced vulnerability insights\n-------------------------------\n\n| **Caution:** Starting on June 16, 2025 Advanced Vulnerability Insights is deprecated and is scheduled for shutdown on June 16, 2026 as part of the deprecation of various GKE security posture dashboard features. For more information about deprecation and shutdown dates, see [Vulnerability\n| scanning removal from GKE](/kubernetes-engine/docs/deprecations/vulnerability-scanning-gkee).\n\nWithin Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) security posture dashboard,\nArtifact Analysis provides\n*advanced vulnerability insights*, a paid tier of continual scanning that\ndetects software vulnerabilities among OS images and popular open source\nprogramming languages used to build applications. Advanced vulnerability\ninsights can be enabled on a per-cluster basis.\n\n- The price is **$0.04** per cluster hour, for each enabled cluster.\n\nView your billing report\n------------------------\n\nThe [Cloud Billing Reports](/billing/docs/how-to/reports) page lets you view your Google Cloud\ncosts at glance.
