You can also use the\n[Google Cloud Pricing Calculator](/products/calculator) to estimate the cost of\nusing VM Manager.\n\nPricing\n-------\n\nThe entire VM Manager suite is charged as a single service at one\nflat rate per VM with an active OS Config agent.\n\nYou incur charges per the number of VMs that have\nan [active OS Config agent](/compute/vm-manager/docs/setup#agent-state) as follows:\n\n- To get started with testing in your environment a free tier is available. This free tier provides a monthly usage of 100 VMs per [Cloud Billing account](/billing/docs/concepts#billing_account).\n- Once the free tier is exhausted, for all VMs that have an [active OS Config agent](/compute/vm-manager/docs/setup#agent-state), each active agent is charged at a rate of $0.003 per hour per VM.\n\n| **Note:** In VM Manager *limited functionality* mode, you get a subset of features at no cost for unlimited number of VMs. For example, you can view OS policy assignments for VMs in the project, but you cannot create your own OS policy assignments or create patch jobs using VM Manager. For more information, see [the workflow](/monitoring/agent/ops-agent/install-agent-vm-creation#use_the_automatic_installation_checkbox) that installs Ops Agent and enables VM Manager in limited functionality mode.
