Destination is a geographic area\nthat's determined by where traffic leaves the Google network.\n\nIf you pay in a currency other than USD, the prices listed in your currency on [Cloud Platform SKUs](https://cloud.google.com/skus/) apply. \n^1^ Traffic destined for mainland China is served from Google locations outside of mainland China. Performance and reliability may be lower than for traffic served from in-country locations. \n^2^ Oceania includes Australia, New Zealand, and surrounding Pacific Ocean islands such as Papua New Guinea and Fiji. This region excludes Hawaii.\n\nOpt-In Network Regions\n----------------------\n\n\nWhen Opt-in Network Regions are enabled with a [BYOIP](/vpc/docs/bring-your-own-ip#comparison),\nCloud CDN and Global External Application Load Balancer traffic will start to utilize the opt-in\nregions when clients are near one of the regions. When this occurs, there is an additional cost for\nCDN Cache Data Transfer Out from these specific regions or when Global External Application Load\nBalancer in these regions connects to a backend that is not in the same region.\n\nIf you pay in a currency other than USD, the prices listed in your currency on [Cloud Platform SKUs](https://cloud.google.com/skus/) apply.\n\n### Cache fill\n\n\nMonthly cache fill charges represent the data required to populate Cloud CDN's caches. For\ntypical workloads where you are serving popular content, cache fill is often less than 10% of your\ntotal data transfer GiB.\n\nCharges vary based on the source and destination, where the source is the region of your backend\nservice, or for external backends, the geographic area based on your origin's IP address.\n\nIf you pay in a currency other than USD, the prices listed in your currency on [Cloud Platform SKUs](https://cloud.google.com/skus/) apply.\n\n### Pricing notes\n\n- Network usage is calculated in [gibibytes (GiB)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte#Multiple-byte_units).\n- Charges accrue daily, but Cloud CDN bills you only at the end of the billing period. You can view unbilled usage on your project's billing page in the Google Cloud console.\n- The metered bytes for cache data transfer out or cache fill include HTTP response headers (after compression, if applicable) and the response body, as well as any trailers.\n\n### Pricing example\n\n\nThe following example shows a simple scenario that might apply if you are just\ngetting started with Cloud CDN.\n\n\nSuppose you have the following Cloud CDN usage pattern in a given month.\n\n\nYour bill for the month is calculated as follows.\n\nWhat's next\n-----------\n\n- Read the [Cloud CDN documentation](/cdn/docs).\n- Try the [Pricing calculator](/products/calculator).\n- Learn about [Cloud CDN solutions and use cases](/cdn/docs/overview).\n\n#### Request a custom quote\n\nWith Google Cloud's pay-as-you-go pricing, you only pay for the services you use.
