After you have created your portal, customized its look and feel, and performed any advanced configurations required (such as customizing the domain name), you are ready to publish your portal content. By publishing your portal content, you are making your latest changes available on your live portal site.
Publishing your portal content
To avoid publishing a navigation menu that has links to pages that have not yet been published, and that would result in broken links, it is recommended that you publish your portal content in the following order:
Select the menu that you want to publish from the drop-down menu.
Click Publish.
Unpublish your portal content
You can unpublish navigation menus and pages from your portal at anytime, as required.
To avoid having an orphaned navigation menu item with a broken link to a page that has been removed, it is recommended that you unpublish content in the following order:
[[["Easy to understand","easyToUnderstand","thumb-up"],["Solved my problem","solvedMyProblem","thumb-up"],["Other","otherUp","thumb-up"]],[["Hard to understand","hardToUnderstand","thumb-down"],["Incorrect information or sample code","incorrectInformationOrSampleCode","thumb-down"],["Missing the information/samples I need","missingTheInformationSamplesINeed","thumb-down"],["Other","otherDown","thumb-down"]],["Last updated 2025-08-28 UTC."],[[["
This guide is relevant to both Apigee and Apigee hybrid users, providing instructions for managing portal content.

"],["
Publishing portal content makes your latest changes available on the live portal site, but ensure you preview the pages before doing so.

"],["
To prevent broken links, it's recommended to publish new or modified pages before publishing any new or modified menus.

"],["
You can unpublish portal content (menus and pages) at any time, and to avoid broken links, unpublish menus before unpublishing pages.

"],["
To publish or unpublish a page, you must open it in the page editor, and for menus, you must select it from the breadcrumb drop down menu.

"]]],[],null,["# Publishing your portal content

*This page
applies to **Apigee** and **Apigee hybrid**.*

*View [Apigee Edge](https://docs.apigee.com/api-platform/get-started/what-apigee-edge) documentation.*
After you have created your portal, customized its look and feel, and performed any advanced configurations required (such as customizing the domain name), you are ready to publish your portal content.
