However,\nCloud Marketplace applies new or updated discounts to previous purchases\nthat have usage-based charges invoiced after the discount is updated.\n\n### How Cloud Marketplace previously applied reseller discounts\n\nBefore May 20, 2024, after you configured a discount for a reseller, that\ndiscount applied to all purchases of your organization's products from\nCloud Marketplace that met all of these conditions:\n\n- The reseller or their customer made the purchases through their linked\n Cloud Billing resold customer subaccount.\n\n- The sales are invoiced during the duration that you specified when you\n configured the discount.\n\n| **Note:** Before May 20, 2024, if you configured a discount for a customer who previously purchased other products from you without a discount, all of their previous purchases that were still active when the discount took effect had the discount applied to them for the duration that the discount is active.\n\nMay 20, 2024 change process\n---------------------------\n\nOn May 20, 2024, Cloud Marketplace preserves the current value of each\nexisting reseller discount as the value of that discount for the rest of the\ncurrent offer period. Shortly before May 20, 2024, we recommend that you verify\nthe details of any active reseller discounts that you've already set up, to make\nsure that the correct discount is preserved for the rest of the offer period.\n\nStarting May 20, 2024, to change the reseller discount for a current offer's\ncommitments or flat fees, you must complete the following steps:\n\n1. [Update the existing reseller discount](/marketplace/docs/partners/resell/reseller-incentives#update_an_existing_reseller_discount).\n This immediately updates the discount for new orders, but not for existing\n orders.\n\n2. [Amend the current offer](/marketplace/docs/partners/offers/modify-offer).\n This applies the updated discount to the current order.\n\nAfter the offer amendment has been accepted, the discount reflects the amended\nvalue."]]
