If you don't want to install and run an automatic data collection with StratoProbe in your infrastructure, you can manually upload your infrastructure data into StratoZone.
To gather system data and performance data from your VMware assets, you can use RVTools, a third-party tool that lets you collect and export data from your virtual environments. You can then import the table generated by RVTools directly in StratoZone to create a new assessment.
Requirements
To successfully import data, create a table with RVTools version 4.3.1 or later. Previous versions of RVTools are not supported.
Create an assessment from RVTools data
To create an assessment from an output table generated with RVTools, follow these steps:
Log in to the StratoZone portal.
From the Assessments tab, select Create new assessment group.
Select Manual asset entry as your assessment group type, fill in the information about group name and sponsor details, then click Save.
In the Overview tab of the Assessment page, enter a name for your assessment, select RVTools, then click Save & Next to continue.
In the Upload tab, click Upload to upload to the portal the XLSX file generated with RVTools. The status of the file changes to Uploaded, Processing.
Click Refresh. If the file is processed correctly, the status changes to Uploaded, Processed.
Click Save & Next to continue.
In the Validate and create inventory tab, review the results for the upload, then click Add inventory to add the assets to the assessment.
If any of the assets show an error in the Validate and create inventory tab, you will not be able to create the assessment. To troubleshoot the errors, from the Upload tab, download the report with the exceptions found .
If you're still having issues, contact StratoZone support.
