Criar uma conexão de banco de dados para uma instância de IP público
O Looker (Google Cloud Core) precisa estar conectado a um banco de dados para que os usuários possam analisar dados e criar conteúdo. Aprenda a criar uma conexão de banco de dados para uma instância de IP público do Looker (Google Cloud Core) para usar como base em qualquer projeto do LookML ou em um projeto específico.
Navegue até a página "Conectar seu banco de dados ao Looker".
Na página inicial do Looker (Google Cloud Core), clique no botão Criar no menu de navegação principal para abrir o menu suspenso.
No menu suspenso, selecione Conexão para abrir a página Conectar seu banco de dados ao Looker.
Criar a conexão do banco de dados
Na página Conectar seu banco de dados ao Looker, siga estas etapas:
Na seção Nome, insira um nome para a conexão. Esse nome vai aparecer no campo Conexão da página Criar um modelo e na página Conexões.
Na seção Escopo da conexão, selecione Todos os projetos para criar uma conexão que será usada em todos os projetos do LookML na sua instância do Looker (Google Cloud Core) ou Projeto selecionado para criar uma conexão que será usada apenas no projeto do LookML especificado.
Se você escolheu Projeto selecionado na seção Escopo da conexão, selecione o projeto em que você quer usar essa conexão.
Na seção Dialect, escolha o dialeto adequado para seu banco de dados. Você também pode começar a digitar o nome do dialeto, e o Looker vai mostrar sugestões de nomes de dialetos que correspondem ao que você digitou.
Depois que você seleciona um dialeto para a conexão, o Looker mostra os campos de configurações de conexão que se aplicam ao dialeto do banco de dados. Preencha as configurações seguintes que o Looker mostra:
A maioria das configurações de conexão é comum para a maioria dos dialetos de banco de dados. Para descrições de configurações comuns do banco de dados, consulte a página de documentação Como conectar o Looker ao banco de dados.
Na seção Optional Settings, abra ou feche as seções para conferir e configurar as opções disponíveis para a conexão do banco de dados. Você também pode clicar em Abrir tudo para abrir todas as seções.
Para testar as configurações de conexão, clique em Testar. Se a
conexão estiver configurada corretamente, uma marca de seleção verde vai aparecer.
Para criar a conexão, clique em Criar.
É possível conferir e gerenciar a conexão na página de administrador Conexões.

You can also use this quickstart to create a database connection for a Looker (original) instance\n\nBefore you begin\n\nTo follow along with this quickstart, you'll need the following:\n\n- Access to a Looker (Google Cloud core) instance.\n- You must have the [**Looker Admin**](/looker/docs/admin-panel-users-roles#default_roles) role or have the [`manage_project_connections` Looker permission](/looker/docs/admin-panel-users-roles#manage_project_connections).\n- A database dialect that is compatible with Looker (Google Cloud core). For a list of compatible dialects, see [Supported dialects for Looker (Google Cloud core)](/looker/docs/looker-core-dialects#supported_dialects_for).\n\nNavigate to the Connect your database to Looker page\n\n1. On the Looker (Google Cloud core) homepage, click the **Create** button in the main navigation menu to open the drop-down menu.\n2. From the drop-down menu, select **Connection** to open the **Connect your database to Looker** page.\n\nCreate your database connection\n\nOn the **Connect your database to Looker** page, complete the following steps:\n\n1. In the **Name** section, enter a name for your connection. This name will appear in the **Connection** field of the **Create a Model** page, as well as the **Connections** page.\n\n | **Tip:** Don't use the name of any [folders](/looker/docs/organizing-spaces) for this setting. This value doesn't need to match anything in your database; `Name` is a label that identifies this connection within the Looker UI.\n2. In the **Connection Scope** section, select **All Projects** to create a connection that will be used for all LookML projects in your Looker (Google Cloud core) instance, or select **Selected Project** to create a connection that will be used only for the LookML project that you specify.\n\n3. If you chose **Selected Project** in the **Connection Scope** section, select the project that you want to use this connection for.\n\n4. In the **Dialect** section, choose the appropriate dialect for your database. You can also begin typing the dialect name and Looker will display suggestions for the dialect names that match what you've typed.\n\n5. Once you select a dialect for the connection, Looker displays the connection settings fields that apply to your database dialect. Fill in the subsequent settings that Looker displays:\n\n - The majority of the connection settings are common to most database dialects. For descriptions of common database settings, see the [Connecting Looker to your database](/looker/docs/connecting-to-your-db) documentation page.\n - For instructions for your specific dialect, see the [Connecting Looker (Google Cloud core) to your database](/looker/docs/looker-core-dialects#database_configuration_instructions) documentation page.\n6. In the **Optional Settings** section, expand or collapse the sections to see and configure the available options for your database connection. You can also click **Expand all** to expand all the sections.\n\n7. To test your connection configuration settings, click **Test**. If your\n connection is configured correctly, you'll see a green check mark.\n\n8.
