Die semantische Suche auf Basis von Gemini vereinfacht die Datenermittlung, da keine komplexe Suchsyntax erforderlich ist. Die Suche in natürlicher Sprache wird unterstützt. Sie können also in Alltagssprache nach Ressourcen suchen. Das verbessert die Zugänglichkeit für Nutzer mit unterschiedlichen technischen Kenntnissen.
Ähnlich wie bei der Stichwortsuche liegt der Schwerpunkt der semantischen Suche auf dem Auffinden von Ressourcen durch Analyse der Metadaten, die den Ressourcen innerhalb einer Organisation zugeordnet sind.
Die semantische Suche basiert auf technischen Metadaten für die Datenermittlung. Außerdem werden benutzerdefinierte Metadaten wie Aspekte unterstützt. Bei der semantischen Suche liegt der Fokus auf der Verbesserung des Recall und nicht der Precision.
