The\ninformation is presented through a variety of panels like the\n[Applications panel](#applications), [Job status panel](#job),\n[Events panel](#events), [Protected data panel](#protected),\n[Appliances health panels](#health), and [Updates panel](#updates).\nWhen a situation requires attention, calls-to-action are prominently shown\nas red numbers with links to more information.\n\nYou can filter the appliance-related data displayed in the dashboard by\nappliance.\n\nThe applications panel\n----------------------\n\nThe **Applications** panel shows you three categories of discovered applications\ndata:\n\n- **Managed** : Identifies how many of your discovered applications are\n managed (backup plans assigned to applications and management enabled\n in the **App Manager** ). Click the number to go to the **App Manager**\n list of applications, filtered to show managed applications.\n\n | **Note:** If there is an assigned management of the same applications to multiple backup/recovery appliances, and the application is in a managed state on one appliance and in an unmanaged state on another appliance, that application will be identified as **Managed** in the **Applications** window.\n- **Unmanaged** : Identifies how many of your discovered applications\n are unmanaged by a backup plan. Click the number to go to the\n **App Manager** list of applications, filtered to show unmanaged\n applications. From the **App Manager**, you can assign a backup plan.\n\n- **Unscheduled** : Identifies how many of your discovered applications\n have backup plans assigned to them but the backup plan management of those\n applications is disabled. Click the number to go\n to the **App Manager** list of applications, filtered to\n show applications with backup plan management disabled. From the\n **App Manager**, you can re-assign a backup plan.\n\nThe **Applications** panel polls for fresh data every two minutes.\n| **Note:** Application data is measured and tracked across all managed backup/recovery appliances. The management console displays the applications and VMs captured by each appliance in the dashboard, but won't count duplicate applications if those applications are VMs or remote applications captured from multiple backup/recovery appliances. For example, if the same two VMs are managed by two different backup/recovery appliances, the management console only counts two managed applications, not four.\n\nThe job status panel\n--------------------\n\nThe **Job Status** panel provides information about jobs that have run\nover the past 24 hours (default).\n\n- **Current or Past Jobs**: A quick view of how many jobs have succeeded, failed, were retried or canceled, or are running.\n- **Job Types or Appliance** s: Links to the **Monitor** filtered to show the status of jobs by job type over the last 24 hours or by managed backup/recovery appliance.\n\nIn the past jobs section, you can also view the status of the last week or last\nmonth if needed. This panel fetches fresh data every two minutes.\n\nThe events panel\n----------------\n\nThe **Events** panel provides quick access to error and warning events that\nhave occurred over the past 24 hours. It polls for fresh data every two minutes.\n\n- **Errors number**: Shows errors over the past 24 hours.\n- **Warnings number**: Shows warnings over the past 24 hours.\n\nClick the **Errors** or **Warnings** number area to access the **Events View**.\n\nThe appliances health panel\n---------------------------\n\nThe **Appliances Health** panel provides an overview of resource usage and\nsystem health for all managed backup/recovery appliances. Each colored block in\nthe different resource usage and system health areas of panel identifies the\nnumber of managed appliances.\n\nIt polls for fresh data every two minutes and shows the following information:\n\n- **Disk Usage**: Current percent utilization of the default pools (snapshot and primary pools) for the managed appliances. If you don't have access to that information, then you see no values.\n- **Hardware**: Status of VDisk utilization for the managed appliances.\n- **Software**: Status of local snapshot and remote management for the managed appliances.\n- **management console Connections**: Status of the state of communication between the management console and its managed backup/recovery appliances. This status is based on the last synchronization and whether the appliance is reachable by the management console.\n\nIf the blocks in the **Appliances Health** panel are green then this means that\neverything is working normal within the set resource parameters for each managed\nappliance. If there are any other colors visible, then log a support call.\n| **Note:** See this table for a legend of different state colors of the different system health components in the dashboard.\n\nIf you click the number in each colored block, it will bring you to the\n**Storage Pools** window (disk usage) or to the **Appliances** window (hardware,\nsoftware, and the management console connections) as a means to help identify\nthe backup/recovery appliance that is experiencing system health issues.\n\nThe following table outlines the different state colors of the different\nappliance health components in the dashboard for the managed backup/recovery appliances.\n\nProtected data\n--------------\n\nThe protected data panel shows the measure of protected source data. This data\nis used in billing for Backup and DR Service. The data in the panel is represented in\nthe stack bar chart in TeraBytes (TBs).\n\nFor Google Cloud VMware Engine, it displays the number of Google Cloud VMware Engine\nnodes being protected. Nodes can be ve1 nodes or storage-only nodes.\nStorage-only node count is displayed only if you protect at least one ve1 node,\neven though storage-only nodes are added to a cluster.\n\nFor workloads other than Google Cloud VMware Engine, such as VMs,\nfile systems, and databases, the protected data is calculated based on the data\nsize of protected applications. These protected applications are divided into\nthree categories and pricing is calculated based on these categories.\n\nThe following table lists the supported application types, with one column for\neach category.\n\nAppliance updates panel\n-----------------------\n\nThis panel displays the number of appliances that are **Pending** and\n**Overdue** to update. Clicking the **Overdue** or **Pending** takes you to the **Appliances** page.\n\nHelp and other resources\n------------------------\n\nIn the upper right corner of the dashboard and every page of the management\nconsole, the **?** icon opens a menu of help and other resources:\n\n- **Help** : The help brings you to the page in the product documentation that most closely reflects your location within the management console. For example, if you click the **Help** from the dashboard, this page opens. If you click **Help** while editing a backup plan, the [Manage backup plans](/backup-disaster-recovery/docs/create-plan/create-template) page opens.\n- **API Documentation**: This opens the API reference documentation.\n- **Videos** : This selection brings you to the [How-to videos](/backup-disaster-recovery/docs/how-to-videos) page with six helpful overview videos.\n- **About** : This selection shows you the current version of the management console. It also includes a **Third Party Licenses** link to download a zipped file of the license information for third-party software used in the management console. \n For the third party licenses in use by a backup/recovery appliance, go to **Manage Appliances** , select the appliance, and click **Configure Appliance** . In the lower left corner of the Appliance Configuration page, click the **gear icon** and select the **Third Party Licenses** link to download a zipped file of the license information for third-party software used in that specific backup/recovery appliance.\n- **Guided Tour**: The Guided Tour brings you on a 10-step graphic tour through the management console."]]
