Manfaat penemuan data dengan klien penemuan
Klien penemuan adalah aplikasi yang secara otomatis menemukan server fisik dan mesin virtual (VM) di infrastruktur Anda.
Setelah Anda menginstal discovery client di dalam infrastruktur, discovery client akan mengumpulkan semua metrik yang diperlukan agar migrasi ke Google Cloudberhasil.
Jika Anda memutuskan untuk menghubungkan discovery client dengan Migration Center, client akan otomatis mengirimkan data yang dikumpulkan ke Migration Center, tempat Anda dapat meninjaunya dan melakukan penilaian.

Sebagai alternatif untuk versi yang diinstal, discovery client tersedia dalam versi CLI yang dapat Anda gunakan untuk penemuan dan pengumpulan berbasis skrip dan langsung.

Batasan
Batasan berikut berlaku untuk klien penemuan:
Discovery client hanya dapat diinstal di komputer Windows. Untuk
menjalankan penemuan dari mesin Linux, gunakan
CLI discovery client Migration Center.
Discovery client hanya dapat memindai perangkat yang menjalankan Windows atau
Linux OS. AIX, Solaris, FreeBSD, Oracle Linux, dan sistem mirip UNIX lainnya tidak didukung.
Discovery client tidak mendukung penemuan dan pengumpulan aset database.
Cara kerja pengumpulan data
Pengumpulan data dengan discovery client mengikuti langkah-langkah berikut:
Download dan instal discovery client di komputer yang dapat mengakses semua aset di infrastruktur Anda.
Buat kredensial yang diperlukan untuk mengakses komputer lain.
Berikan daftar alamat IP yang akan digunakan klien penemuan untuk mengautentikasi dan mengumpulkan data.
Biarkan klien penemuan berjalan di infrastruktur Anda selama beberapa
hari untuk mendapatkan gambaran lengkap tentang infrastruktur Anda.
Tinjau data yang dikumpulkan di Pusat Migrasi, tempat Anda dapat
melanjutkan perjalanan penilaian dengan total biaya kepemilikan (TCO) dan
laporan lainnya.
