In the Google Cloud console, go to the **IAM** page.\n\n [Go to IAM](https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/iam?supportedpurview=project)\n2. Locate the principal that you want to grant administrator privileges,\n then click **Edit principal** (edit)\n in that row.\n\n3. In the **Role** list, select **Cloud Domains Admin**.\n\n4. Click **Save**.\n\n If you can't add the role, contact your administrator to add the role\n before proceeding to the next step.\n\nRegister a domain\n-----------------\n\nTo register a domain, complete the steps in the following sections.\n\n### Search for a domain name\n\n### Console\n\n1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the **Cloud Domains** page.\n\n [Go to Cloud Domains](https://console.cloud.google.com/net-services/domains/registrations/list)\n2. Click **Register domain**.\n\n3. You must accept the Squarespace Terms of Service for your project.\n If not previously accepted, you are prompted to first read the\n Squarespace Terms of Service page and then accept to continue.\n\n4. Search for an available domain, and then identify the domain name that\n you want to purchase. Pricing is listed for each available domain.\n\n5. Click **Select** (add_shopping_cart)\n next to the domain name that you want to purchase.\n You can add as many domains as you like, subject to your available\n quota. For details, see [Quotas and limits](/domains/quotas).\n\n The total pricing based on your selection is calculated and displayed\n in the **Search domain** section. To remove a domain from your cart,\n click **Deselect** (delete) next to the\n domain name.\n\n After you set up billing and complete your domain registration,\n Cloud Domains automatically sets the registration to\n **Auto-renew**.\n | **Note:** You can turn off automatic renewal at any time. Click **Continue**.\n\n### Configure DNS for the domain\n\n### Console\n\n1. In the **DNS configuration** section, **Use Cloud DNS** is selected by\n default. However, you can choose one of the DNS providers that's listed\n in the following table. If you are registering multiple domains, you can\n choose individual settings for each domain.\n\n2. In the **DNS provider** section, select your DNS provider:\n\n - If you select the default value **Use Cloud DNS (Recommended)**,\n Google Cloud automatically creates a zone for you. To edit\n the zone name and other details, do the following:\n\n 1. In the **Cloud DNS zone** list, select **Setup new zone**.\n 2. Make the required edits, and then click **Save and continue**.\n\n If you already created a zone in Cloud DNS,\n Cloud Domains selects that zone by default.\n - If you select **Use custom name servers** , enter at least two name\n servers. To add more name servers, click **Add another name server**.\n\n3. Click **Continue**.\n\n### Choose privacy settings for your domain\n\n### Console\n\n1. By default, privacy protection is turned on. However, you can change the settings to one of the privacy options in the following table.\n\n For information about how to use contact privacy, see the [`ContactPrivacy`](/domains/docs/reference/rest/v1/projects.locations.registrations#contactprivacy) section in the reference documentation.\n2. To limit which information is available to the public, select **Limit your info available to the public** . This option is only available for `.com` and `.net` domains.\n3. To make all contact information publicly available, select **Make all contact info public**.\n4. If you agree with the statement in the dialog, click **I agree**.\n5. Click **Continue**.\n\n### Specify contact details\n\n### Console\n\nYour contact information is necessary for\n[ICANN](https://www.icann.org/) to reach\nyou if there are any problems. The information that you enter becomes the\npublic contact information for your domain in the\n[WHOIS](/domains/docs/key-terms#terms-whois) database. For more information,\nsee [Contact information](/domains/docs/overview#contact-info).\n\n1. Enter contact details for the domain. By default, the same contact\n details that you enter are applied to the registrant, administrative, and\n technical contacts. To enter different information for each type of\n contact, you can [edit your contact\n settings](/domains/docs/edit-registration-settings#edit-contact-and-privacy-settings)\n later.\n\n If you are registering more than one domain, you can choose to apply the\n same contact details to all domains or choose to enter different contact\n details for each domain.\n2. Click **Register**.\n\n Processing your registration can take a few minutes.\n\n Cloud Domains or Squarespace sends a verification email\n to the email address that you enter.\n\n### Verify your contact information\n\nAfter you register your domain, Cloud Domains or Squarespace\nsends a verification email to the address that you provided in your contact\ninformation for the domain. This email includes a subject line that states\n*Action required: Please verify your email address* or *\\[Action Required\\]\nVerify your Squarespace domain contact*.\n\nYou must verify your contact information within 15 days or your domain\nbecomes inactive.\n\nTo verify your email address, complete the following steps:\n\n1. Open the verification email from [no-reply@squarespace.com](mailto:no-reply@squarespace.com).\n2.
