Google Cloud Ai Platform V1 Client - Class FeaturestoreServiceClient (0.16.0)

Reference documentation and code samples for the Google Cloud Ai Platform V1 Client class FeaturestoreServiceClient.

Service Description: The service that handles CRUD and List for resources for Featurestore.

This class provides the ability to make remote calls to the backing service through method calls that map to API methods. Sample code to get started:

$featurestoreServiceClient = new FeaturestoreServiceClient();
try {
    $formattedParent = $featurestoreServiceClient->entityTypeName('[PROJECT]', '[LOCATION]', '[FEATURESTORE]', '[ENTITY_TYPE]');
    $requests = [];
    $operationResponse = $featurestoreServiceClient->batchCreateFeatures($formattedParent, $requests);
    $operationResponse->pollUntilComplete();
    if ($operationResponse->operationSucceeded()) {
        $result = $operationResponse->getResult();
    // doSomethingWith($result)
    } else {
        $error = $operationResponse->getError();
        // handleError($error)
    }
    // Alternatively:
    // start the operation, keep the operation name, and resume later
    $operationResponse = $featurestoreServiceClient->batchCreateFeatures($formattedParent, $requests);
    $operationName = $operationResponse->getName();
    // ... do other work
    $newOperationResponse = $featurestoreServiceClient->resumeOperation($operationName, 'batchCreateFeatures');
    while (!$newOperationResponse->isDone()) {
        // ... do other work
        $newOperationResponse->reload();
    }
    if ($newOperationResponse->operationSucceeded()) {
        $result = $newOperationResponse->getResult();
    // doSomethingWith($result)
    } else {
        $error = $newOperationResponse->getError();
        // handleError($error)
    }
} finally {
    $featurestoreServiceClient->close();
}

Many parameters require resource names to be formatted in a particular way. To assist with these names, this class includes a format method for each type of name, and additionally a parseName method to extract the individual identifiers contained within formatted names that are returned by the API.

Methods

entityTypeName

Formats a string containing the fully-qualified path to represent a entity_type resource.

Parameters
NameDescription
project string
location string
featurestore string
entityType string
Returns
TypeDescription
stringThe formatted entity_type resource.

featureName

Formats a string containing the fully-qualified path to represent a feature resource.

Parameters
NameDescription
project string
location string
featurestore string
entityType string
feature string
Returns
TypeDescription
stringThe formatted feature resource.

featurestoreName

Formats a string containing the fully-qualified path to represent a featurestore resource.

Parameters
NameDescription
project string
location string
featurestore string
Returns
TypeDescription
stringThe formatted featurestore resource.

locationName

Formats a string containing the fully-qualified path to represent a location resource.

Parameters
NameDescription
project string
location string
Returns
TypeDescription
stringThe formatted location resource.

parseName

Parses a formatted name string and returns an associative array of the components in the name.

The following name formats are supported: Template: Pattern

  • entityType: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}/entityTypes/{entity_type}
  • feature: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}/entityTypes/{entity_type}/features/{feature}
  • featurestore: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}
  • location: projects/{project}/locations/{location}

The optional $template argument can be supplied to specify a particular pattern, and must match one of the templates listed above. If no $template argument is provided, or if the $template argument does not match one of the templates listed, then parseName will check each of the supported templates, and return the first match.

Parameters
NameDescription
formattedName string

The formatted name string

template string

Optional name of template to match

Returns
TypeDescription
arrayAn associative array from name component IDs to component values.

getOperationsClient

Return an OperationsClient object with the same endpoint as $this.

Returns
TypeDescription
Google\ApiCore\LongRunning\OperationsClient

resumeOperation

Resume an existing long running operation that was previously started by a long running API method. If $methodName is not provided, or does not match a long running API method, then the operation can still be resumed, but the OperationResponse object will not deserialize the final response.

Parameters
NameDescription
operationName string

The name of the long running operation

methodName string

The name of the method used to start the operation

Returns
TypeDescription
Google\ApiCore\OperationResponse

__construct

Constructor.

Parameters
NameDescription
options array

Optional. Options for configuring the service API wrapper.

↳ apiEndpoint string

The address of the API remote host. May optionally include the port, formatted as "

↳ credentials string|array|FetchAuthTokenInterface|CredentialsWrapper

The credentials to be used by the client to authorize API calls. This option accepts either a path to a credentials file, or a decoded credentials file as a PHP array. Advanced usage: In addition, this option can also accept a pre-constructed Google\Auth\FetchAuthTokenInterface object or Google\ApiCore\CredentialsWrapper object. Note that when one of these objects are provided, any settings in $credentialsConfig will be ignored.

↳ credentialsConfig array

Options used to configure credentials, including auth token caching, for the client. For a full list of supporting configuration options, see Google\ApiCore\CredentialsWrapper::build() .

↳ disableRetries bool

Determines whether or not retries defined by the client configuration should be disabled. Defaults to false.

↳ clientConfig string|array

Client method configuration, including retry settings. This option can be either a path to a JSON file, or a PHP array containing the decoded JSON data. By default this settings points to the default client config file, which is provided in the resources folder.

↳ transport string|TransportInterface

The transport used for executing network requests. May be either the string rest or grpc. Defaults to grpc if gRPC support is detected on the system. Advanced usage: Additionally, it is possible to pass in an already instantiated Google\ApiCore\Transport\TransportInterface object. Note that when this object is provided, any settings in $transportConfig, and any $apiEndpoint setting, will be ignored.

↳ transportConfig array

Configuration options that will be used to construct the transport. Options for each supported transport type should be passed in a key for that transport. For example: $transportConfig = [ 'grpc' => [...], 'rest' => [...], ]; See the Google\ApiCore\Transport\GrpcTransport::build() and Google\ApiCore\Transport\RestTransport::build() methods for the supported options.

↳ clientCertSource callable

A callable which returns the client cert as a string. This can be used to provide a certificate and private key to the transport layer for mTLS.

batchCreateFeatures

Creates a batch of Features in a given EntityType.

Parameters
NameDescription
parent string

Required. The resource name of the EntityType to create the batch of Features under. Format: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}/entityTypes/{entity_type}

requests array<Google\Cloud\AIPlatform\V1\CreateFeatureRequest>

Required. The request message specifying the Features to create. All Features must be created under the same parent EntityType. The parent field in each child request message can be omitted. If parent is set in a child request, then the value must match the parent value in this request message.

batchReadFeatureValues

Batch reads Feature values from a Featurestore.

This API enables batch reading Feature values, where each read instance in the batch may read Feature values of entities from one or more EntityTypes. Point-in-time correctness is guaranteed for Feature values of each read instance as of each instance's read timestamp.

Parameters
NameDescription
featurestore string

Required. The resource name of the Featurestore from which to query Feature values. Format: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}

destination Google\Cloud\AIPlatform\V1\FeatureValueDestination

Required. Specifies output location and format.

entityTypeSpecs array<Google\Cloud\AIPlatform\V1\BatchReadFeatureValuesRequest\EntityTypeSpec>

Required. Specifies EntityType grouping Features to read values of and settings.

optionalArgs array

Optional.

↳ csvReadInstances CsvSource

Each read instance consists of exactly one read timestamp and one or more entity IDs identifying entities of the corresponding EntityTypes whose Features are requested. Each output instance contains Feature values of requested entities concatenated together as of the read time. An example read instance may be foo_entity_id, bar_entity_id, 2020-01-01T10:00:00.123Z. An example output instance may be foo_entity_id, bar_entity_id, 2020-01-01T10:00:00.123Z, foo_entity_feature1_value, bar_entity_feature2_value. Timestamp in each read instance must be millisecond-aligned. csv_read_instances are read instances stored in a plain-text CSV file. The header should be: [ENTITY_TYPE_ID1], [ENTITY_TYPE_ID2], ..., timestamp The columns can be in any order. Values in the timestamp column must use the RFC 3339 format, e.g. 2012-07-30T10:43:17.123Z.

↳ bigqueryReadInstances BigQuerySource

Similar to csv_read_instances, but from BigQuery source.

↳ passThroughFields PassThroughField[]

When not empty, the specified fields in the *_read_instances source will be joined as-is in the output, in addition to those fields from the Featurestore Entity. For BigQuery source, the type of the pass-through values will be automatically inferred. For CSV source, the pass-through values will be passed as opaque bytes.

↳ startTime Timestamp

Optional. Excludes Feature values with feature generation timestamp before this timestamp. If not set, retrieve oldest values kept in Feature Store. Timestamp, if present, must not have higher than millisecond precision.

↳ retrySettings RetrySettings|array

Retry settings to use for this call. Can be a Google\ApiCore\RetrySettings object, or an associative array of retry settings parameters. See the documentation on Google\ApiCore\RetrySettings for example usage.

deleteFeatureValues

Delete Feature values from Featurestore.

The progress of the deletion is tracked by the returned operation. The deleted feature values are guaranteed to be invisible to subsequent read operations after the operation is marked as successfully done.

If a delete feature values operation fails, the feature values returned from reads and exports may be inconsistent. If consistency is required, the caller must retry the same delete request again and wait till the new operation returned is marked as successfully done.

entityType string

Required. The resource name of the EntityType grouping the Features for which values are being deleted from. Format: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}/entityTypes/{entityType}

optionalArgs array

importFeatureValues

Imports Feature values into the Featurestore from a source storage.

The progress of the import is tracked by the returned operation. The imported features are guaranteed to be visible to subsequent read operations after the operation is marked as successfully done.

If an import operation fails, the Feature values returned from reads and exports may be inconsistent. If consistency is required, the caller must retry the same import request again and wait till the new operation returned is marked as successfully done.

There are also scenarios where the caller can cause inconsistency.

  • Source data for import contains multiple distinct Feature values for the same entity ID and timestamp.
  • Source is modified during an import. This includes adding, updating, or removing source data and/or metadata. Examples of updating metadata include but are not limited to changing storage location, storage class, or retention policy.
  • Online serving cluster is under-provisioned.
Parameters
NameDescription
entityType string

Required. The resource name of the EntityType grouping the Features for which values are being imported. Format: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/featurestores/{featurestore}/entityTypes/{entityType}

featureSpecs array<Google\Cloud\AIPlatform\V1\ImportFeatureValuesRequest\FeatureSpec>

Required. Specifications defining which Feature values to import from the entity. The request fails if no feature_specs are provided, and having multiple feature_specs for one Feature is not allowed.

optionalArgs array

Optional.

↳ avroSource AvroSource
↳ bigquerySource BigQuerySource
↳ csvSource CsvSource
↳ featureTimeField string

Source column that holds the Feature timestamp for all Feature values in each entity.

↳ featureTime Timestamp

Single Feature timestamp for all entities being imported. The timestamp must not have higher than millisecond precision.

↳ entityIdField string

Source column that holds entity IDs. If not provided, entity IDs are extracted from the column named entity_id.

↳ disableOnlineServing bool

If set, data will not be imported for online serving. This is typically used for backfilling, where Feature generation timestamps are not in the timestamp range needed for online serving.

↳ workerCount int

Specifies the number of workers that are used to write data to the Featurestore. Consider the online serving capacity that you require to achieve the desired import throughput without interfering with online serving. The value must be positive, and less than or equal to 100. If not set, defaults to using 1 worker. The low count ensures minimal impact on online serving performance.

↳ disableIngestionAnalysis bool

If true, API doesn't start ingestion analysis pipeline.

↳ retrySettings RetrySettings|array

Retry settings to use for this call. Can be a Google\ApiCore\RetrySettings object, or an associative array of retry settings parameters. See the documentation on Google\ApiCore\RetrySettings for example usage.

searchFeatures

Searches Features matching a query in a given project.

Parameters
NameDescription
location string

Required. The resource name of the Location to search Features. Format: projects/{project}/locations/{location}

optionalArgs array

Optional.

↳ query string

Query string that is a conjunction of field-restricted queries and/or field-restricted filters. Field-restricted queries and filters can be combined using AND to form a conjunction. A field query is in the form FIELD:QUERY. This implicitly checks if QUERY exists as a substring within Feature's FIELD. The QUERY and the FIELD are converted to a sequence of words (i.e. tokens) for comparison. This is done by: * Removing leading/trailing whitespace and tokenizing the search value. Characters that are not one of alphanumeric [a-zA-Z0-9], underscore _, or asterisk * are treated as delimiters for tokens. * is treated as a wildcard that matches characters within a token. * Ignoring case. * Prepending an asterisk to the first and appending an asterisk to the last token in QUERY. A QUERY must be either a singular token or a phrase. A phrase is one or multiple words enclosed in double quotation marks ("). With phrases, the order of the words is important. Words in the phrase must be matching in order and consecutively. Supported FIELDs for field-restricted queries: * feature_id * description * entity_type_id Examples: * feature_id: foo --> Matches a Feature with ID containing the substring foo (eg. foo, foofeature, barfoo). * feature_id: foo*feature --> Matches a Feature with ID containing the substring foo*feature (eg. foobarfeature). * feature_id: foo AND description: bar --> Matches a Feature with ID containing the substring foo and description containing the substring bar. Besides field queries, the following exact-match filters are supported. The exact-match filters do not support wildcards. Unlike field-restricted queries, exact-match filters are case-sensitive. * feature_id: Supports = comparisons. * description: Supports = comparisons. Multi-token filters should be enclosed in quotes. * entity_type_id: Supports = comparisons. * value_type: Supports = and != comparisons. * labels: Supports key-value equality as well as key presence. * featurestore_id: Supports = comparisons. Examples: * description = "foo bar" --> Any Feature with description exactly equal to foo bar * value_type = DOUBLE --> Features whose type is DOUBLE. * labels.active = yes AND labels.env = prod --> Features having both (active: yes) and (env: prod) labels. * labels.env: * --> Any Feature which has a label with env as the key.
