Click **Credentials** , then click **Add credentials**.
2. To enter the details, click **Add OS credentials**.
3. Enter a name to identify your credentials, then select one of the credential types available.
- **Username \\& Password** : applicable to both Windows and Linux collections.
- Enter domain accounts as <var translate="no">DOMAIN</var>`\\`<var translate="no">USERNAME</var>.
- Enter local accounts as `.\\`<var translate="no">USERNAME</var>.
- **SSH Key / Certificate** (Linux only): you can connect to a Linux machine using SSH with a certificate-based authentication instead of using a username and password combination. Enter the username and password for the certificate, then upload a new private key in the PEM format.
4. To confirm, click **Save**.

### Add vCenter Credentials

To scan a vCenter source, add the new vCenter credentials in the discovery client with the following steps:

1. Click **Credentials** , then click **Add credentials**.
2. To enter the details, click Select **Add vCenter credentials**.
3. Enter a name to identify the credentials.
4. Enter the username.
5. Enter the password.
6. To confirm, click **Save**.

What's next
-----------

- Learn how to [add servers to a credential](/migration-center/docs/add-servers)."]]
