For\nmore information about locations within Google Cloud, see\n[Geography and regions](/docs/geography-and-regions).\n\nSecret Manager does not support zones, dual-regional locations, or\nmulti-regional locations.\n\nHow locations work in Secret Manager\n------------------------------------\n\nSecrets and secret versions can be accessed globally across Google Cloud.\nA secret's *replication policy* determines where the secret and its versions are\nstored in Google Cloud.\n\nSecrets that use the automatic replication policy are replicated without\nrestriction. Automatic replication is recommended for most users.\n\nIf you need more control over the locations where a secret is stored, you can\nchoose the user-managed replication policy. With user-managed replication, you\nselect one or more geographic locations where the secret will be replicated. For\nspecific instructions, see\n[Creating secrets](/secret-manager/docs/creating-and-accessing-secrets).\n\nFor more information about availability of Secret Manager resources,\nrefer to the [service-level agreement SLA](/secret-manager/sla).\n\n### Regional endpoints for Secret Manager\n\nIf your data is subject to data residency zone (DRZ) regulations or other compliance\nrequirements, create and store your Secret Manager resources in\na [Google Cloud location](/about/locations) that supports regional endpoints.\nRegional endpoints are request endpoints that only allow requests to proceed\nif the affected resource exists in the location specified by the endpoint. For\nexample, when you use the endpoint `https://secretmanager.me-central2.rep.googleapis.com`\nin a delete secret request, the request only proceeds if the secret is located in\n`ME-CENTRAL2`. Regional endpoints ensure that your data at rest and in transit\nremains in a specific Google Cloud location. To enforce the use of regional\nendpoints, you can set an organization policy. Learn more in [Restricting\nendpoint usage](/assured-workloads/docs/restrict-endpoint-usage). For\ninformation about creating regional secrets, see [Create regional\nsecrets](/secret-manager/docs/create-regional-secrets).\n\nTo identify the locations that have dedicated regional endpoints for\nSecret Manager, see the **Regional endpoint availability** column in the following tables.\n\nLocations in Asia Pacific\n-------------------------\n\nThe following table lists the locations in Asia Pacific where\nSecret Manager resources can be stored. \n\nLocations in Europe\n-------------------\n\nThe following table lists the locations in Europe where Secret Manager\nresources can be stored. \n\nLocations in North America\n--------------------------\n\nThe following table lists the locations in North America where\nSecret Manager resources can be stored. \n\nLocations in South America\n--------------------------\n\nThe following table lists the locations in South America where\nSecret Manager resources can be stored. \n\nLocations in Middle East\n------------------------\n\nThe following table lists the locations in the Middle East where\nSecret Manager resources can be stored. \n\nLocations in Africa\n-------------------\n\nThe following table lists the locations in Africa where\nSecret Manager resources can be stored. \n\nParameter Manager regional endpoint locations\n---------------------------------------------\n\n[Parameter Manager](/secret-manager/parameter-manager/docs/overview) is\nan extension to the Secret Manager service that lets you create, store,\nand manage your application parameters. You can create Parameter Manager\nresources in a\n[global](/resource-manager/docs/organization-policy/defining-locations#location_types)\nlocation, or\n[in a specific data location with the help of a regional endpoint](/secret-manager/parameter-manager/docs/create-parameter).\n\nThe following table provides the [regions](/docs/geography-and-regions#regions_and_zones)\nor specific geographical locations where you can access the Parameter Manager\nregional endpoint.\n\nWhat's next\n-----------\n\n- Learn more about [locations](/about/locations)"]]
